nurturing tranquility and harmony with eight silk brocades

Escape the winter hustle and find your oasis of calm with me during a six-week 'Winter Chillout' Qigong course in Boscombe. • Monday 29th January

  • Monday 5th February

  • Monday 12th February

  • Monday 19th February

  • Monday 26th February

Unlock the Benefits:

Join me as I teach the Eight Silk Brocades. The eight silk brocades or Baduanjin are an ancient practice and early mentions of this form date back to 1150. This particular set of practices are gentle and accessible but are renowned for their benefits. In addition to the flowing movements of the the Eight Silk Brocades, each week there will be an opportunity for breathwork and for meditation and visualisation. I will teach you simple warm-ups and meridian massage that you can practice at home and you will learn more about the five elements in Qi Gong. Sign up for the whole course and receive a PDF at the end of the course so that you can continue to build your own practice. During winter, nature draws inwards, seeds are planted and watered and nurtured. Working with Qigong is a bit like this - we will focus on the seeds you want to plant and nurture and by watering them, you can look forward to a brighter spring. You can expect:

  • Improved energy levels and vitality

  • Bone Density

  • Better quality of sleep

  • Increased strength, focus and resilience

  • Enhanced balance and coordination

  • An insight into the benefits and qualities of all five elements and how to bring them into balance

Qi Gong with Rakhee reminds me of my own internal energies and how I might strengthen them. Over time I’ve noticed that I’ve got used to the rhythms of the poses. For that one hour a week both my mind and body experience a different world at a different speed. Sometimes I’m able to relax into it and clear my mind, while at other times it makes me buzz with new ideas, and solutions to problems suddenly appear. All this stays with me afterwards for hours or even days.
