Invest in a happy and healthy workforce
yoga in the workplace
I teach yoga in the workplace - all workplaces - from big city corporations and investment banks through to small and medium-sized enterprises, tech startups, arts organisations, schools and charities. I am fully insured, DBS checked and first aid trained. Also, having been the Director of a busy arts and education charity for twenty-three years years, directly employing a team of creative people, I fully understand the pressures of business and the challenges that employers face on a daily basis. Yoga helps me to keep my equilibrium and ensures that I am balanced, energised and well rested at work.
Many forward-thinking companies are now choosing to invest in a happy and healthy workforce by providing in-house yoga classes for their staff, either at lunchtime, or as an after work activity.
Free or subsidised yoga classes have become a popular perk for many employees, who can reap the plentiful benefits of yoga, without even having to leave the office. Workplace yoga helps employees work well together and can make them feel more positively towards their jobs and their employer. There are other big benefits for the employer too; yoga has been scientifically proven to reduce levels of stress and anxiety amongst staff teams and can reduce burnout rates, absenteeism and the number of days lost due to illness and injuries - all of which helps to improve productivity and boost team morale.
My classes can be tailored to suit the culture of your company and to meet the needs and time constraints of your staff team. If everyone tends to dash home at 5.30pm in the evening, then an express lunchtime yoga class may prove popular and can be scheduled to run for 30, 45 or 60 minutes. However if meetings are often scheduled during lunchtimes, then a class outside of office hours, may work better.
Research confirms that the health benefits of yoga in the workplace, include:
Reduced stress, anxiety and depression
Improved strength, flexibility and general wellbeing
Increased calm, focus and concentration
Improved breathing
Improved posture
Reduced back pain, neck and shoulder tension and repetitive strain injury
Boosts immune system
Increased energy
Increased confidence and self-esteem
Increased productivity
Reduced burnout rates
Reduced absenteeism
Reduced staff turnover, healthcare costs and sick pay
Improved staff morale and team spirit

“Rakhee is an attentive teacher who crafts classes around an intention which encourages me to think and practice with purpose. Her classes get me moving while making me feel grounded, connected with myself and with my environment.
I travel a lot which can be very tiring and Rakhee creates a safe and caring space for me to practice which is makes me feel rested and quieter. ”
